Populous has appointed Cary Hirschstein as the sports architecture firm’s first Head of Real Estate Strategy, marking a strategic move to strengthen its capabilities across hashtagSports, hashtagEntertainment and hashtagMixedUse development.
Hirschstein joins the Kansas City–based firm from HR&A Advisors, where he served as managing partner leading the sports and entertainment practice. With nearly two decades of experience spanning multiple facets of mixed-use and sports-led development, his career has long intersected with major players across the sports architecture ecosystem – including Populous. In his new role, he will lead the firm’s newly established real estate strategy group, be based in New York, and report to Jonathan Mallie, Head of Americas.
