CannonDesign proudly marked the grand opening of Connecticut Children’s new eight-story Clinical Tower on the Hartford campus last week—a milestone that reflects a deep commitment to creating environments that support healing, comfort and meaningful patient experiences.
Throughout the design process, the patient journey served as the guiding priority. The tower features a welcoming, expansive lobby highlighted by a two-story “tree of life” sculpture, bird-inspired light fixtures and nature-themed artwork—elements thoughtfully crafted to spark joy and curiosity while easing anxiety for pediatric patients and their families. These design gestures together shape a nurturing atmosphere that supports both emotional wellbeing and clinical care.
CannonDesign extends its appreciation to project partners DPR Construction, Colliers Project Leaders | USA, Salas O’Brien, Fuss & O’Neill and LAZ Parking, whose collaboration was essential to bringing this landmark facility to life.
