325 Binney Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts is a landmark life science, research, and office building designed by NBBJ for Moderna’s global headquarters and R&D operations within the Alexandria Center at One Kendall Square. The project sits in one of the world’s most innovative innovation districts and reimagines a former industrial site as a flexible, collaborative, and sustainable workplace — advancing design for scientific discovery and workplace culture. Architectural Record+1
NBBJ’s design responds to the needs of today’s scientific and corporate environments through a striking six‑story structure with a monumental central atrium that links floors visually and socially, promoting interaction and natural daylight deep into the building. The atrium’s cascading work and lounge areas are intended to foster spontaneous collaboration while enhancing wellness through daylight and biophilic principles. The exterior and interior design work together to anchor the building within Cambridge’s urban context while creating inspiring spaces for research teams and office users.
