The Learning Center Pavilion at Holocaust Museum LA is an innovative architectural addition designed by BA Collective, led by architect Hagy Belzberg. This project is part of the museumโs โBuilding Truthโ expansion, a broader effort to amplify the institutionโs educational mission and increase capacity in Pan Pacific Park. BA Collectiveโs design responds to the urgent need for expanded space for students, educators, and visitors, offering new ways to engage with the museumโs powerful content. BA Collective+1
Unlike the original subterranean museum, which draws occupants gradually downward through evocative galleries, the new Pavilion is conceived entirely above ground. It uses innovative truss technology and a light PTFE canopy to create airy, transparent spaces that connect seamlessly with exterior gardens and atriums. The complex consists of multiple pavilions arranged with intentional pauses between them, forming contemplative courtyards and zones for reflection and learning.
