The Kips Bay Decorator Show House has returned to New York for its 50th anniversary, taking over a six-story Greenwich Village townhouse that embodies the city’s architectural charm. Established in 1973 to support the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, the Show House has grown into one of the most prestigious design events in the world — inspiring trends, supporting philanthropy, and celebrating craftsmanship for half a century.
This year’s edition marks a symbolic return to the city where it all began. For the first time, the Show House has moved downtown, taking residence at 20 West 12th Street, a historic townhouse featuring 13-foot ceilings, seven fireplaces, eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and an original Otis elevator. Its cobblestone surroundings nod to the neighborhood’s bohemian heritage, setting a dramatic backdrop for design innovation.

The Participants
The 2025 Show House unites 21 of the world’s leading designers and architects, including Alexa Hampton, Ben Pentreath, Jamie Drake, Christopher Peacock, Corey Damen Jenkins, Eve Robinson, Tamara Feldman, and Vicente Wolf. Each designer reimagines a section of the townhouse, blending contemporary design language with classical influences to create six floors of immersive storytelling.

The Design Highlights
Highlights include Corey Damen Jenkins’ whimsical dining room, inspired by Through the Looking-Glass, Andrea Schumacher’s Nigerian-influenced lounge, and Tamara Feldman’s Paradiso Encontrado bathroom, a visual symphony of marble and vivid green accents. Ben Pentreath’s drawing room, rich with English flair, remains one of the show’s most celebrated spaces.

Sponsors and Emerging Trends
Returning sponsor Kohler has outfitted twelve rooms with its latest bath and kitchen innovations, featuring digital showers and sculptural sinks. Across the home, emerging trends such as layered marbles, architectural shelving, sculptural lighting, and digitally optimized “Zoom rooms” define the aesthetic direction of 2025.
The Legacy and Future
As the Show House celebrates its golden jubilee, it reaffirms its influence as a platform where philanthropy meets creativity. Proceeds continue to benefit youth programs through the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, extending the event’s legacy of purpose-driven design. The exhibition runs through October 19, with tickets starting at $50, ahead of the Dallas edition opening on November 7.
