MaRS Culture is a Houston‑based multidisciplinary design studio led by founder Kelie Mayfield, known for crafting environments that blend design, collaboration, and cultural engagement. With a portfolio spanning commercial, hospitality, residential, and civic projects, the firm strives to create spaces that support community, creativity, and meaningful experience. 2910 McKinney is one of MaRS Culture’s most distinctive projects, representing both a design milestone and the firm’s own creative headquarters. Mars Culture+1
2910 McKinney revitalizes a former 1953 warehouse in Houston’s East Downtown (EaDo) into a vibrant 65,000‑square‑foot mixed‑use creative hub for makers, designers, and cultural entrepreneurs. Originally built as a showroom and distribution center, the building’s robust brick structure, high ceilings, and industrial character were preserved and celebrated in MaRS Culture’s design. By reopening tall steel‑framed windows, introducing steel‑and‑glass partitions, and removing select interior walls, the team maintained openness and transparency while establishing distinct zones for studio space, retail, shared workshops, and community gathering.
