For IGG Inc.โs office building in Fuzhou, Woods Bagot has created an interior environment that blends workplace architecture with global gaming culture, transforming the office into an immersive, narrative-driven experience.
Guided by IGGโs philosophy โInnovators at Work, Gamers at Heart,โ the interiors reimagine the building as the Banyan Castleโa game-inspired world where employees and visitors move through spaces that shift between reality and surreality. The design integrates storytelling into the spatial experience, turning everyday movement through the building into a journey through themed environments.
Drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes of Fujian, elements such as banyan trees, caves, and organic growth patterns anchor the design in its local context. This approach allows imagination and place to coexist, blending nature-inspired design with contemporary workplace interiors.
The spatial narrative begins on the ground floor with the Welcome Portal, where visitors enter through the sculptural Rabbit Hole, creating a memorable sense of arrival through immersive circulation and integrated brand storytelling.
As Carsten Lange, Principal at Woods Bagot, explains, the project was never intended to be just another office tower. Instead, it represents a physical embodiment of IGGโs culture, shaped by the context of Fuzhou and guided by advanced health and wellness principles, reinforcing a commitment to employee wellbeing, the cityโs urban fabric, and responsible environmental stewardship
