Studio Gang has strengthened its West Coast leadership with the relocation of Design Principal and Partner Weston Walker to California, where he will lead the firmโs San Francisco office. In this role, Walker will support the studioโs expanding presence on the West Coast, offering clients and collaborators senior leadership with strong local engagement.
With nearly 20 years at Studio Gang, Walker has played a key role in shaping the firmโs design leadership and global strategy. He founded the New York office in 2013 and grew it into a team of nearly 40 architects, delivering a wide range of projects across the East Coast and internationally. In California, he will work closely with Steven M. Wiesenthal, FAIA, Campus Environments Principal, who will transition into a relationship-focused role while continuing to contribute to campus-based projects.
Their leadership builds on recent successes, including award-winning expansions at the California College of the Arts and the University of California, Santa Cruz Kresge College. Both projects received honor awards from AIA San Francisco and AIA California, and the firm was also recognized with the AIA California 2025 Firm Award.
At the same time, J. Arthur Liu, Design Principal at Studio Gang, will assume leadership of the New York office. With over a decade at the firm, Liu has led several of the studioโs most complex projects in New York City and beyond, underscoring Studio Gangโs focus on leadership continuity and internal talent development.
